Chapter 14
The main point of this section is that the many peoples of the Americas have been subject to their own cultures and growth. Although they have been secluded from the western world they had many similarities and ideas that were progressing. When the Europeans came they brought forth one of the deadliest things to the native people of the Americas, diease and technology. Through both of these the many civilizations were brought down because they were not accustomed to them. The immunity that he Europeans had was higher because they have gone through the great plague and many epidemics. In addition these disesases are in existence because of the close knit farms that live hand and hand with the livestock, especially pigs. The swine are the dirtiest animals and when humans live and exist with them they create the catalyst that can merge viruses to both animals and human. In addition the new technologies gave an advantage to the Europeans because the native had no way to combat these weapons. Moreover, the use of animals, horses, made the difference because they had new beasts that could run a faster paces to create havoc in the societies.
