chapter 15
the way that the Europeans gained their passage to the Americas was all by accident. they were simply trying to find a route to India that took out the Muslim middle man and made it a lot more productive with less Muslim conflict. in addition the over all use of this trade route was for spices and many commodities that were not local to the western cultures. one of which that influenced this new route was the east India company and its quest on a better spice trade. these many east India companies took over the trade and made the profits benefiting their own countries. in Asia the Japanese went through a period that was controlled by military based interests and the name of this was called the shogun. these times in Asia pushed them forth onto the market. slave trade boomed and made its way to the Americas.
